Drillco were subcontracted for its directional drilling services by Downer Taranaki, working for the New Plymouth District Council. Our local Drillco team butt welded the pipe into strings and successfully drilled 660 metres of new watermain into position, without damage to any other services.
Our team were responsible for potholing, locating services, PE welding, stringing, positioning drill shots and installation via Directional Drilling. Each drillshot was around 160 metres long reducing the number of start and end holes resulting in minimal reinstatement.
This project had us working on local roads as well as installation down State Highway 3. The drill shots had to thread their way under and around critical assets already in the ground. As part of the final connection works to properties we replaced lateral services to houses, which were also directionally drilled into position.
