New Energy is working with Infratec and Lodestone to install the 32MW solar farm near Edgecumbe.
The 32MW farm will generate enough electricity to supply more than 6,000 typical New Zealand small businesses, farms, homes and apartments every year. The site will utilise approximately 60,000 Trina PV modules and will supply electricity to the 1,700 local residents, the local Fonterra dairy plant and other nearby commercial and industrial users. Groundbreaking occurred in May 2023 with construction beginning in June 2023.
This project is New Energy’s second solar farm with Lodestone and Infratec after the Kaitaia project that begun construction December 2022.
