Automotive Maintenance Technician – Manawatu

Swiftly responding to breakdowns, your hands-on expertise will be instrumental in diagnosing and resolving issues efficiently, minimizing downtime across Drillco and New Energy sites.

What you’ll do:

  • Vehicle, plant, and equipment maintenance – inspections, servicing, and repairs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of maintenance activities.
  • Light equipment fabrication, meeting quality and compliance standards.
  • Field support – prompt breakdown and equipment failure response across Drillco and New Energy sites.
  • Coordination of maintenance repairs and tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
  • Think safe! Prioritise the safety of yourself and your colleagues.

Desired skills & qualifications: (ideal but not essential for the right person!)

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive mechanics or a similar role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with deep understanding of automotive systems, components, and machinery.
  • Proficient welding and fabrication skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Basic understanding of workplace health & safety.
  • Approachable, personable team player with a can-do attitude.
  • Full NZ Driver’s License, class 1, 2, & 4.
  • Wheels, tracks, and roller endorsements.
  • Forklift Licence.
